Chobi Mela has cancelled an event which was to be attended by Indian author Arundhati Roy.
The Indian author’s talk “Utmost Everything” was scheduled to be held at Krishibid Institute Auditorium on Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, Chobi Mela said Dhaka Metropolitan Police has withdrawn their permission for the program for unavoidable circumstances.
When contacted, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar could not be reached over the phone for comment.
The talk was organized by Chobi Mela, the first festival of photography in Asia. It is one of the ventures initiated by Drik and Pathshala.
