Divers of Savar Fire Service and Civil Defense today recovered the body of a student of Dhanmondi Ideal College, who along with his two classmates went missing in the Dhaleshwari river yesterday.
Officials confirmed the recovered body was of Akash, senior station officer of Savar Fire Service and Civil Defense, in the morning.
The body was recovered half a kilometer downstream from where the three went missing, the official said.
Two units of fire fighters are working to trace the two other missing students of the same college situated in Dhanmondi.
The three Akash, Razon, and Mehedi, all grade-XI students of the college were swept away by strong current when they went swimming in the river.
Bunking classes, 12 students went to their classmate’s house in Savar’s Banktown area. Around 11:30am yesterday, they went swimming in the river but strong current swept three of them away, said one of the students.
Two more students of the group Jahid and Manik were admitted to Enam Medical College Hospital.
