A member of Rapid Action Battalion was killed while another injured as a truck hit their motorcycle at Kakrail intersection in Dhaka early today.
Deceased Hasan Mahmud, 32, was a police constable and was posted at the intelligence wing of Rab headquarters.
Both the riders fell down from their motorcycle after the truck rammed it around 12:30am, said Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan, senior assistant director of Rab legal and media wing.
The injured were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where Hasan succumbed around 2:00am, Mizanur added.
The injured, whose identity could not be confirmed yet, was released after being given primary treatment, said Nayek Ripon of DMCH police outpost.
The truck driver Alamgir Hosen, 32, and his helper Hridoy Hosen, 20, were arrested along with the vehicle soon after the accident, said Rezaul Karim, sub-inspector (SI) of Ramna Police Station.
Hasan hailed from Agailjhara upazila of Barishal district.
