BUET protesters threaten to lock buildings to realise demands

Agitating students of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology on Thursday threatened that they would lock all academic and administrative buildings on the campus if vice-chancellor Professor Saiful Islam did not meet with them by 2:00pm Friday.

The protesters also threatened to hinder this year’s admission test scheduled for October 14 if their demands were not met.

They made the announcement on the fourth day of their protest in front of BUET Shaheed Minar.

‘We’ll lock down all buildings on the campus tomorrow if VC Professor Saiful Islam doesn’t meet with us and clarify his position,’ said Tithi, spokesperson of the protesters.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh Chhatra League brought out a procession on Dhaka University campus demanding exemplary punishment of Abrar Fakhad’s killers.

Abrar, a second-year EEE student, was beaten to death reportedly by Chhatra League activists on early Monday at his residential dormitory.
