Vacuum created in political arena following Khoka’s death: BNP

 

BNP has expressed deep shock at the death of the party’s vice chairman and former mayor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Sadeque Hossain Khoka, who died at a hospital in New York today.

In a condolence message, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said the country has lost a proficient leadership during its crisis moment.

“Khoka was a believer of nationalist ideology, honest, dedicated and an experienced politician. His contribution during the country’s Liberation War will remain unforgettable,” Fakhrul said in the message.

“A vacuum has created in the country’s political arena following the death of Khoka,” he said recalling his contribution in many democratic movements in the country.

He also extended sympathy to the bereaved family members and sought eternal peace of the departed soul.

Immediately after his death, political leaders, several parties and people from different classes and professions started expressing shocks at the death of Khoka, a freedom fighter and a seasoned politician.

Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique also expressed deep shock at the death of Khoka and said the BNP leader will be remembered and cherished by the patriotic people of the country for outstanding contribution in the Liberation War.

He also extended sympathy to the shocked family members and relatives and sought eternal peace of the departed soul.

Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Atiqul Islam also expressed deep sorrows and extended sympathy to the shocked family members and followers.

Recalling the contribution of Khoka in the War of Liberation, Atiqul also sought eternal peace of the departed soul.

Gonoforum and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) also expressed shocked at the death. The parties also extended sympathy to the shocked family members.
