Momen worried over deaths on India-Bangladesh border

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said the government is concerned about Bangladeshis being killed at the borders.

“We will inform India about the matter,” he said while briefing the media about the prime minister’s visit to Abu Dhabi on Sunday.

He also said: “We do not want anyone to die at the borders. They [India] said that they do not want it either. But unfortunately, it is happening.”

Responding to queries on Indian media reports that ties between the neighbouring countries are cold, he said: “The media is saying relations are cold when it is extremely warm. The media is the one who finds problems.”

On reports over Bangladesh not giving visas to Kashmiri students, he said: “It is an absolute lie.”
