Errors occurred during EVMs use in national election

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has admitted to occurring errors in the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) when these were used in a large scale for the first time during the national election.

"Many errors occurred in the use of EVMs for the first time [in national election]. We have taken preparation after fixing these [errors]," he told the media after visiting the a mock EVM voting in Dhaka on Thursday.

Expressing satisfaction over EVMs, CEC Huda said, “Voters have found EVMs easier to cast ballots. Polling officials also find it easier to operate.

“As [EVMs] a new technology, people's doubt is normal,” he said before hoping that voters would be accustomed to EVMs soon.
"Widespread campaign has been launched on the EMVs," Huda said.
