3 votes in 2 hours at DU polling centre!

The turnout rate of voters in Dhaka North and South City Corporations elections today, compared to the last city corporations’ elections, is seemingly very low.

Eighty votes, out of 2354, were cast at Buet polling centre, said Presiding Officer Bashudeb.

Our reporter however found the premises of the centre empty at 12noon.

Talking to The Daily Star, Presiding Officer at the Dhaka University Laboratory School polling centre Abdul Motaleb said that only three votes were cast till 9:40am, nearly two hours after voting began today.

Visiting several polling centres, our correspondents found that the turnout of voters is very few.

Our staff correspondent from Candour Kindergarten School in Pallabi reports that only single digit voters were seen at the centre.

Only five votes were cast till 9:15am at the Pallabi centre.

Another correspondent from MDC Model School also reports the same. No queue of voters were seen at the centre.
