Malaysia-returnee sent to hospital from Shahjalal Airport

A Malaysia-returnee who landed at Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday night with high body temperature was sent to a hospital from the airport.

As the body temperature of the Bangladeshi man was found high during the health screening he was sent to the hospital, said sources at Airport health desk.

Earlier on Thursday, two people who returned from Saudi Arabia were directly sent to Kuwait-Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital from the airport after health workers found them with high body temperature.

Besides, seven overseas-returnees were sent to Kuwait-Bangladesh Maitree Hospital from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday as their body temperature was found high during thermal screening.

Bangladesh has confirmed the detection of 17 coronavirus cases and one death.

The death toll from coronavirus or COVID-19 has reached 10,048 globally as of Friday. It has so far infected 245,630 people around the world, according to worldometer.

Of them, 147,145 are currently being treated with 7,378 being in serious or critical condition.

So far, 98,485 cases had outcomes and of them, 88,437 (90 percent) recovered and 10 percent died.
