58 health officials, 10 cops among Gazipur coronavirus patients

Fifty-eight staff of health department and 10 policemen are among 161 people who have tested positive for coronavirus in Gazipur.

The local administration put all markets under lockdown but it could not deter the people from carrying out their usual business. Some markets are operating like they do under normal circumstances. Especially the low-income people are not following the rules.

Besides, hundreds of readymade garment workers are seen holding demonstrations and processions to press for various demands.

Many people have been facing difficulties as bank services have been shut due to the outbreak of coronavirus.

But a number of locals said the government-announced shutdown has had very little impact as people continue to flout rules of social distancing and staying indoors.
