Coronavirus: Unemployed locals seeking food aid demonstrate in Jessore

Over 200 unemployed poor people have demonstrated in Hajampara Level Crossing area of Jessore Sadar upazila demanding food aid on Wednesday evening.

The ongoing general holidays, aimed at curbing the spread of coronavirus, has left them without jobs and food to feed their families, the protesters said.

The demonstrators from Hazampara and Kholadanga returned home after one-hour protest when Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jakir Hossain and Executive Magistrate Iren Sultana visited the sport and assured them of providing necessary aid, reports UNB.

Meanwhile, ten more people died from coronavirus in Bangladesh in the last 24 hours till Wednesday, taking the death toll in the country to 120.

Besides, 390 more people tested positive for coronavirus during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 3,772.
