Former PSC chairman Saadat Hussein passes away

Former cabinet secretary and former chairman of Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) Saadat Hussein passed away at a hospital in Dhaka last night.

Saadat, 73, breathed his last at 10:30 pm at United Hospital, his son Shahzed Saadat told media.

He was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the last several days for various physical complications.

Saadat is survived by his wife, one son and two daughters.

He was born in Noakhali on November 24, 1946. He studied in economics at Dhaka University. He joined the Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP) in 1969.

He served as the Cabinet Secretary from 2002-05. He was the chairman of PSC from 2007 to 2011.
