Hasina orders Murad to resign

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday asked the state minister for information, Murad Hassan, to resign from the cabinet by Tuesday.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader confirmed the matter saying that he had talked to the prime minister Monday evening and had informed Murad Hassan about PM’s message at about 8:00pm.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader confirmed the prime minister’s order to the media on Monday evening.

“I spoke to the prime minister this evening about Murad’s issue. She ordered him to resign from the cabinet by tomorrow [Tuesday],” he said while talking to reporters at his home in Dhaka.

“I informed State Minister Murad about her directive at around 8pm tonight,” said Quader, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League.
