A BNP delegation led by the party's Vice Chairman Barkatullah Bulu is holding a meeting with Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun at the police headquarters to discuss the December 10 rally and the recent arrests of party men.
The meeting started at 1:00pm, said a BNP leader seeking anonymity.
The four-member delegation includes BNP Joint Secretary General Moazzem Hossain Alal, Publicity Secretary Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie and Legal Affairs Secretary Kaiser Kamal.
Earlier, Alal that they are going to discuss with the IGP issues regarding the December 10 rally and the recent arrests of party men.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police on Tuesday gave the BNP permission to hold the rally at Suhrawardy Udyan though the party sought permission to hold the rally in front of its Nayapaltan central office.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir yesterday urged the authorities concerned allow the party to hold the rally at Nayapaltan.
