Game to continue in the election, movement: Obaidul Quader

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said the game will be played against vote rigging and fraud, corruption, looting, money laundering and Hawa Bhaban and will also will be played again in the election and the movement.

Obaidul Quader made the remarks while presenting the general secretary's report at the party’s 22nd national council at capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan.

He said, “Awami League is ready to face the acts of sabotage”

Opponents of Awami League envy the party, as it built the Padma Bridge and will inaugurate metro rail. The opponents know they cannot defeat Sheikh Hasina in the election, so they want to oust the government thinking that they would get the throne once Sheikh Hasina is ousted, but it would not happen, Obaidul Quader added.

There is no alternative to Sheikh Hasina against communalism and subversive activities, he said adding, Awami League must survive to save Bangladesh and Sheikh Hasina must be in office to achieve the development of the country.

Obaidul Quader also highlighted the development of the government in his speech.

At one point of his speech, the senior Awami League leader said former army chief and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman betrayed the nation sending the killers of Bangabandhu aboard and giving them indemnity and many freedom fighters were hanged tragically.

Ziaur Rahman was the mastermind of the 13 November events and his son Tarique Rahman, who left the country after signing bond on not getting involved politics anymore, is the mastermind of the 21 August attack, and this history must not be forgotten, he added.

Obaidul Quader praised the leadership of Sheikh Hasina saying she has been the most honest and popular leader over the past 47 years and she presented the country to the world.
