BNP standing committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain today alleged that the ruling Awami League has ruined all the achievements of the nation.
There is no alternative of ousting the government to get rid of the situation, he said.
"Democracy is at exile, judiciary is politicised, people lost their voting rights, there is no human rights and the country's economy at stake," he said.
Mosharraf came up with the allegations at a programme in front of the party's Nayapaltan headquarters, marking 87th birth anniversary of party founder Ziaur Rahman.
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal organised a day-long programme including art competition, blood donation, distribution of educational materials among poor children and warm clothes distribution among street children to mark the day.
The BNP leader said the contribution of Zia to build the nation is unparalleled.
"Where Awami League failed, Ziaur Rahman is successful. That's why Awami League fears Ziaur Rahman," he said.
Chhatra Dal President Kazi Rawnaqul Islam Srabon chaired the event, conducted by general secretary of the organisation Saif Mahmud Jewel.
