Rizvi claims Quader ordered police to attack BNP program

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Wednesday claimed that Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader ordered the police to attack a march of the BNP the day before.

The BNP leader was addressing a press conference at the BNP's central office in the capital's Naya Paltan in the morning.

He said this attack was planned on a peaceful program to wipe out the BNP politically.

Claiming that the government is creating anarchy in the country to stay in power illegally, Rizvi also warned that the people will give a befitting reply if the Awami League overdoes it.

He also alleged that testimony in the Niko corruption case against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is taking place to serve political purposes.

Earlier on Tuesday, clashes broke out between police and leaders and activists of the BNP in the capital's Science Lab area during the BNP's march to press home their 10-point demand, including the resignation of the government.
