BNP announces three-day blockade across Bangladesh from Tuesday

The main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Sunday announced a three-day blockade programme across Bangladesh to press home their demand for the resignation of ruling Awami League government and to protest against the attack by the police on Saturday’s grand rally in Dhaka.

After holding a daylong hartal programme across the country on Sunday, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said in a virtual press conference that a complete blockade programme will be enforced on October 31, November 1 and November 2.

‘In order to protect the livelihood of the people who are affected by the ongoing rise in commodity prices due to ongoing injustice, mismanagement, unlimited corruption, lawlessness, money laundering and syndicates, the attack on the October 28 grand rally, killing of leaders and workers, arresting BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP will hold this programme for the next three days,’ he said.

He said that this program will be held by blocking roads and waterways.
