Rizvi distributes leaflets during BNP non-cooperation movement

The BNP has started a mass campaign calling for the boycott of the 12th national parliamentary election and to make its recently announced non-cooperation movement successful.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi and other leaders and activists distributed leaflets to promote the party’s movement in the Elephant Road and Bailey Road areas of Dhaka on Thursday morning.

Rizvi said: “There is nothing to brag about using state power to hold dummy elections and to hold elections among allies. The public has rejected such a one-sided election with disgust.

“This illegitimate government is trying to stay in power by holding one-sided elections. But this election will not be acceptable to anyone at either home and abroad.”

He said: “This is not an election. It is a deception and a mockery of the people.”

The BNP leader also called upon the citizens of the country to make the non-cooperation movement successful by not paying their taxes or utility bills.

The three-day mass campaign started on Thursday. Apart from the BNP, other anti-government political parties are also holding mass campaigns at various places in the capital.
