Mehidy denies Bonner ton but West Indies on top

West Indies were 325-6 after 119 overs at lunch on the second day of the second Test of the two-match series against Bangladesh at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, Dhaka.

Joshua Da Silva was unbeaten on 70 runs while Alzarri Joseph was accompanying him with 34 runs.

West Indies added 102 runs in the morning session of the second day and lost only one wicket.

Mehidy Hasan took the wicket of Nkrumah Bonner after he scored 90 runs.

Bonner, who scored 86 runs in the second innings of the Chattogram Test was closing towards three digit figures but had to depart when he tried to flick Mehidy.

Mohammad Mithun took the catch at the leg slip as Mehidy picked up his 99th Test wicket playing his 24th match.

Da Silva brought his second Test fifty in career in 86 balls with a reverse sweep off Mehidy before Joseph punished Bangladesh for their wayward bowling.

He started his aggressive innings with back-to-back four off Mehidy and then hit two sixes, respectively off Mehidy and Taijul Islam.

The Caribbeans won the first Test in Chittagong by three wickets.
