Concerned Khaleda Zia optimistic of bail

Dhaka, May 4 (Just News): BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is optimistic that the Supreme Court will grant her bail in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case, for which she is currently serving time in prison.

She conveyed the optimism while speaking to relatives who visited her at Nazimuddin Road jail this afternoon, a relative who went to see her said this.

Khaleda Zia expressed grave concern over the country’s prevailing political situation and blamed the ruling quarter for indulging in acts of repression.

Khaleda Zia's elder sister Selima Islam, her niece Baby, nephew Aveek (Shamim Iskander’s son), another nephew Hasan, Zubaida‘s elder sister Shahina Khan Zaman, and Dr Mamun met her in jail and talked for at least one and half an hour with her.

Khaleda Zia has been suffering from acute pain in her left arms and legs and needs better treatment, the relative said while describing Khaleda’s physical condition.

Khaleda Zia landed in prison on February 8 after she was handed the five-year jail sentence by a Dhaka court.
