Police arrested one person in connection with the gang-rape of a housewife in Jhikargachha upazila of Jashore last night.
The arrestee, Rofi Mia alias Shuvo, 25, is a relative of the survivor's in-laws, quoting Mejbah Uddin Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) Jhikargachha Police Station.
Rofi called the survivor on her mobile phone and asked her to come out of her house around 8pm.
As she came out, Rofi forcibly took her to a field where he along with Rahul Hosen, 22, Saddam Hosen, 20, and Sohan Hosen, 23, raped her, the police official said.
Police arrested Rofi in a drive last night while the other accused are yet to be arrested.
The survivor was sent to Jashore Medical college Hospital for physical check-up, the OC added.
A case was filed with the police station in this regard.
