At least two people were killed and three others injured in a road accident on early Monday at Elenga bus stand area of Kalihati upazila on Dhaka- Bangabandhu Setu Highway of Tangail.
The deceased are Sabuj Miah, 38, and Sanwar Hossein, 37, of Gopalganj district.
Inspector Kamal Hossein of Elenga highway outpost said that the accident took place when a Rangpur-bound microbus of British American Tobacco Company of Bangladesh was hit by a truck coming in the same direction, leaving two people dead on the spot and three others injured.
Being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the microbus from the spot.
The bodies were sent to 250-bed Tangail General Hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations. The injured were also admitted to the hospital, he added.
