The Home Ministry on Friday suspended three jailers in the incident of a woman visiting detained Hallmark general manager Tushar Ahmed in Kashimpur jail in breach of the jail code on January 6.
The suspended officials are Kashimpur-1 jail superintendent Ratna Roy, jailer Nur Mohammad Mridha and deputy jailer Golam Saklain, confirmed Assistant inspector general of prisons Md Main Uddin adding that the prisons directorate received an order of suspension in this connection.
The Prisons Directorate on Wednesday submitted its probe report to the ministry regarding the incident.
The directorate recommended punishment of Kashimpur-1 Central Jail superintendent Ratna Roy, its jailer Nur Mohammad Mridha and 16 others for arranging a meeting between Tushar and the woman.
