A day labourer and his daughter were killed as a truck ploughed into a roadside house in Santhia upazila of Pabna last night.
The deceased were identified as Shah Babu (38) and his daughter Brishti Khatun (12) of Vitepara village in Santhia, reports our Pabna correspondent quoting police.
Officer-in-charge of Santhia Police Station Md Asaduzzaman said a cement-laden truck, heading for Sirajganj's Baghabari from Pabna's Nagarbari, hit a roadside house around 10:00pm when Babu and his family were having dinner.
Babu and Brishti came under the wheel of the truck and died on the spot.
Babu's wife Lucky Khatun and son Sagor were injured in the accident, the OC said.
On information, police and fire fighters reached to the spot and rescued the injured from the spot.
Police seized the truck but its driver and helper managed to flee.
A case was filed in connection with the accident.
