Bangladesh sees 38 Covid deaths in 24 hours   

Covid-19 killed 38 people and infected 1,028 others in the 24 hours ending at 8:00 am on Saturday, said the daily health update of Directorate General of Health Services.

The latest daily Covid casualties took the overall number of death caused by the viral disease to 12,348 and the number of overall Covid cases to 787,726.

The new daily infection represents 8.41 per cent of 12,230 samples tested during the reporting period.

So far 729,798 Covid patients have recovered, said the government bulletin.

Thirty two of the new deaths occurred in government hospitals while the rest took place in private hospitals.

Bangladesh officially announced its first Covid case on March 8, 2020.
