Fifteen people – nine male and six female -- died at the Covid unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in 24 hours till 8am today.
Of the deceased, seven were Covid-19 positive and the rest died with symptoms, our Rajshahi staff correspondent reports quoting RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani.
Six of the deceased were from Rajshahi, five from Pabna, two from Naogaon and one each from Natore and Kushtia.
During 24 hours, 188 samples were tested at RMCH lab through RT-PCR testing and 44 of them came positive while 275 were tested at Rajshahi Medical College lab and 87 of them were Covid-19 positive, Brig Gen Yazdani said.
The current positivity rate in the district is 27.17 percent.
A total of 37 people was admitted to the coronavirus unit of RMCH in 24 hours till 8am today. Fifty-nine patients left the hospital after recovery during the period. In total, 390 people are undergoing treatment at the unit at present.
