The ongoing nationwide lockdown has been extended till August 10, considering the current Covid-19 pandemic situation.

After that, the ongoing restrictions on public and vehicular movement will be relaxed in phases, Minister for Liberation War Affairs AKM Mozammel Haque told reporters at the Secretariat after a meeting today.

Transports could ply the roads by rotation, he said, adding that the respective ministry and department will take necessary action in this regard.

All markets and shops will reopen from August 11, the minister said.

The government is planning to formulate ordinance to force people to wear masks, said Health Minister Zahid Maleque, who was also present there.
