Bangladesh logged an additional Covid death of 235 people and 15,776 cases in 24 hours until Tuesday morning.
With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 21,397 and infections to 12,96,093 since it had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
The daily test positivity rate is 28.54 per cent.
Among the deceased, 140 are male and 95 female are patients.
The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.
A total of 55,248 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 639 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 78,99,169 samples as of August 3.
In the past 24 hours, 16,297 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 11,25,045.
In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 73 and Chattogram logged 65 deaths.
