Covid claims 31 more lives, infects 1,233 in Bangladesh

Covid claimed lives of 31 more people and infected 1,233 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Friday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,368 and infections to 15,49,533 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 4.54 per cent.

Among the deceased, 18 are male and 13 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 27,141 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 815 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 95,79,111 samples as of September 24.

In the past 24 hours, 1,413 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,09,202.

In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 16 people while six eight of Covid-19 in Chattogram.
