Two separate cases have been filed against Mufti Kazi Ibrahim -- a preacher known for his controversial speeches -- at Mohammadpur Police Station today.
One case is under the Digital Security Act and the other over fraud.
Mujib Ahmed Patwari, assistant commissioner of Mohammadpur zone (Tejgaon division, Dhaka Metropolitan Police), confirmed the development to this morning.
The fraud case was filed against four people, including Mufti Kazi Ibrahim, by one ZM Rana, while the Digital Security Act case was filed by the Detective Branch (DB) of police, Mujib Ahmed said.
Earlier yesterday, a team of DB police detained Mufti Kazi Ibrahim from his home in Mohammadpur for interrogation regarding his recent speeches.
