Bangladesh reports lowest Covid deaths in 4 months

Covid claimed the lives of 17 more people and infected 1,178 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Wednesday morning.

The death toll is the lowest in number of daily Covid deaths in four months. Bangladesh o May 26 reported 27 deaths with Covid infection.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,487 and infections to 15,55,051 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 4.12 per cent.

Among the deceased, 10 are male and seven are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 28,599 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 821 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 97,04,722 samples as of September 29.

In the past 24 hours, 1,068 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,14,962.

In the case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 12 people while three died of Covid-19 in Chattogram.
