Bangladesh reports 23 more Covid deaths

Covid claimed the lives of 23 more people and infected 860 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Thursday morning.

With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,510 and infections to 15,55,911 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.

The daily test positivity rate is 3.24 per cent.

Among the deceased, 11 are male and 12 are female patients.

The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.

A total of 26,569 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 821 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 97,31,291 samples as of September 30.

In the past 24 hours, 979 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,15,941.

In the case of the divisions, Chattogram logged the highest death toll of seven people while six died of Covid-19 in Dhaka.
