At least 818 children were raped and 94 others were attempted to rape from January to December in 2021 though the educational instructions remained closed and the children’s absence in public places.
A total of 14 children died after becoming the victim of rape incidents and 110 more children faced sexual harassment in the timeframe, said a press release issued by the Manusher Jonno Foundation.
Earlier in 2020, at least 626 children were raped, according to the release.
MJF revealed the study report at an online press conference on Tuesday titled ‘Bangladesh Child Rights Situation 2021’, based on reports published in five Bangla national dailies and three English dailies in 2021.
