Bangladesh sees fourth straight day of zero Covid deaths, 56 new cases logged

Bangladesh has reported no deaths from the coronavirus on Sunday, for four days in a row, with 56 new cases logged in the 24 hours to 8am.

According to latest figures released by the health directorate, the overall caseload in the country now stands at 1,951,770 while fatalities at 29,122.

A total of 7,087 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 0.79%.

 

Another 596 people recovered from Covid-19 across the country taking the total recovery to 1,883,510.

The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.50% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.

Globally, more than 490 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and over 6.15 million have died as of Sunday morning, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.
