Around 2,000 motorcycles have been waiting at Shimulia ghat to cross the River Padma this afternoon.
Besides, about 2,000 motorcycles crossed the river through ferries till 12pm today, said BIWTC's Shimulia Ghat Manager (Commerce) Jamal Hossain
Passengers were seen mostly taking launches and speedboats to cross the river at Shimulia in Munshiganj, Banglabazar in Madaripur and Majhikandi in Shariatpur, reports our Munshiganj correspondent.
A total of 85 launches, 155 speedboats and 10 ferries are in operations for transporting the Eid holidaymakers today.
BIWTC's Shimulia Ghat Manager (Commerce) Faisal Ahmed said around 400 private vehicles were waiting at Shimulia Ghat at 12pm.
