On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, the Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association has decided to sell advance bus tickets from Friday.
The decision was taken at a meeting at the organization's office in Dhaka's Gabtoli on Monday.
According to the decision, tickets for July 8 will be sold on Friday from Gabtoli Inter-District Bus Terminal and other bus terminals for various routes in North and South-West Bangladesh.
Apart from Gabtali, advance tickets will be sold from various transport counters including Shyamoli, Kalyanpur and Mazar Road. Passengers will be able to purchase advance tickets for any day before Eid subject to the availability of tickets.
At the end of the meeting, a press release signed by Abu Raihan, general secretary of the Bangladesh Bus Truck Owners Association, revealed that the ticket prices will remain at the rate set by the government.
To prevent extra charges on fares, the government fare list will be placed in front of each transport counter.
If anyone charges extra fares from the passengers, disciplinary action will be taken against them.
