Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot to death by members of the Indian Border Security Force along Lohakuchi border of Kaliganj upazila in Lalmonirhat on Wednesday morning, local people said.
The deceased were identified as Waskurni, 32, son of Sanwar Hossain, and Aynal Haque, 30, son of Sadek Ali of village Mahishtuli of Aditmari upazila of the district.
Quoting local people, Golam Rasul, officer-in-charge of Kaliganj police station, said that the BSF members from Koimari Botfor camp opened fire on some Bangladeshi nationals, including Waskurni and Aynal, who went to the border area to bring cattle on early Wednesday. The duo died on the spot.
On information, police went to the spot, the OC said.
Legal action would be taken after investigation, he added.
