Normal life disrupted by cold wave in Panchagarh

Residents in Panchagarh have been suffering due to the biting cold weather, fog and no sign of sun since the last few days.

On Monday morning the district's temperature was recorded at 9°C.

Even though the cold decreases later in the day, the residents said that they hardly see the sun. The weather is mostly gloomy and foggy.

Mobarak Ali, a laborer in the district's Chanpara area, said: "I left my home to search for work. There are not many people on the streets. I have not found any work yet.”

Meanwhile, another autorickshaw driver, Nuruzzaman said that he too got out for work, but did not find any passengers yet.

“If I cannot manage work, what will I answer to my boss? I am very worried,” he added.

Meanwhile, the mild cold wave blowing through many places in Bangladesh will prevail for some more days and spread to other parts of the country, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast on Tuesday.

As a result, the weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Moderate to thick fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning, the BMD report added.
