At least five people were killed in a road accident at Malipara of Khetlal municipal area in Jaipurhat district on Monday.
The accident occurred as a CNG-run auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a truck at about 11:00am, said Khetlal police station officer-in-charge Rajibul Islam.
He said that one of the deceased was the driver of the auto-rickshaw and the remaining ones were its passengers.
Their identities could not be known immediately, he said.
The police officer said that the accident left two dead on the spot and that three other victims died after taking them to a nearby hospital.
