A student was killed and another student was injured in a road accident in Kajla area of Jatrabari in Dhaka on Thursday morning.
The deceased is Omar Faruk Palak, 24, son of Mominul Haque of Jinjira area in Keraniganj, and the injured is Jewel Rana, 23, both students of Mugda Islamic University.
Witnesses said that the accident took place at about 9:30am as a bus of Asian City hit the motorcycle carrying the victims near Kajla Bhanga Bridge while they were going to Mugda Islamic University, leaving the duo in a critical condition.
They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Omar Faruk dead at about 10:15am.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Bachchu Miah said that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for post-mortem examinations.
