Three SSC examinees in Sirajganj have been injured as a ceiling fan of an examination hall fell on them on Sunday.
The incident took place at Haji Ahmad Ali Alia Madrasa centre in Sirajganj. The injured students are from Sirajganj Sadar upazila's Chilgachha Dakhil Madrasa.
Central Secretary and Principal of Alokdia Islamia Fazil Degree Model Madrasa Dulal Hossain confirmed the matter and said some 20 minutes before the examination began, the fan of a room fell and injured the students.
“They were not severely injured. They were provided with first aid. All three students were able to sit for the exam,” he added.
Haji Ahmad Ali Alia Madrasa's Acting Principal Abdul Monayem said the fan was installed three years ago.
Deputy Assistant Community Medical Officer SM Moniruzzaman said: "One of the students was injured in his right hand, one on his cheek, and another on his head. But it was nothing serious.”
In this regard, District Secondary Education Officer Kazi Salim Ullah said: “I have not been informed about the matter yet. I am looking into it.”
