A man was stabbed to death in Dhaka's Jatrabari area early today.
The deceased, identified as 30-year-old Hasan Hawlader, was an employee of a motor workshop in Sayedabad area.
Locals found him lying in a pool of blood around 1:00am at Bidyut Lane area in South Jatrabari. Along with members of police, they took him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 2:30am, said sub-inspector Mostafizur Rahman of Jatrabari Police Station.
There were stab wounds in his chest and left hand, he said.
Deceased's brother-in-law Momin Hossain said Hasan was returning to his Dhaka residence from his village home in Patuakhali Sadar upazila on last night. Getting down from the bus at Dholaipar area, he was walking to his South Jatrabari residence when unidentified persons stabbed him.
His phone and wallet were found with him, he said.
The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
