A technical problem has occurred at the LNG terminal at Maheshkhali because of which there has been no gas supply in Chittagong since Friday morning.
Petrobangla provided this information in a press release in the morning.
According to the notification, the gas supply has been temporarily stopped in Chittagong area since morning due to a technical fault at the Maheshkhali LNG terminal and low pressure of gas is prevailing in other parts of the country due to winter.
Work is underway with a view to speedy repairs. The Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Petrobangla, and related companies are conducting round-the-clock supervision.
It also said that domestic gas production and supply continues. Petrobangla has expressed regret for the temporary inconvenience to customers.
