BNP fears vote rigging ahead of KCC polls

Dhaka, May 14 (Just News): A day before the election, BNP’s mayor candidate for Khulna City Corporation election Nazrul Islam Manzu has expressed fears of vote rigging by ruling quarter.

“I have intelligence that the ruling Awami League will snatch ballot boxes tonight,” he alleged at a press conference held at his residence this morning.

“They, in liaison with law enforcers, have made all arrangements for vote rigging for tomorrow. They have brought in criminals to create chaos and occupy polling centres.”

He also alleged that the ruling quarter is on a spending spree to buy votes.

“Our leaders and activists have been harassed. In the last 20 days, about 154 of our leaders and activists have been arrested. The lawmen are implementing the agenda of the ruling party and have been hampering our election campaign,” he alleged.
