Labaid hospital fined 2L for having unauthorized restaurant on rooftop

A mobile court on Thursday imposed a fine of Tk2lakh on the private hospital Labaid for having a restaurant on the rooftop beyond the design of the building.

During the drive, a restaurant was found on the roof of Labaid and there was leakage in the gas cylinder kept in the restaurant's kitchen.

Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Executive Magistrate Md Jahangir Alam conducted the raid on Thursday.

However, no instruction was given to demolish or remove the restaurant.

However, at one stage of the raid, the DSCC magistrate got into an argument with the Labaid authorities.

The DNCC team started the drive at the hospital around 4:30pm.
