Barrister Abdur Razzaq resigns from Jamaat

Barrister Abdur Razzaq today resigned from Jamaat-e-Islami citing that “Jamaat did not seek apology to the countrymen for its activities against the independence of Bangladesh in 1971”.

Jamaat’s failure to reform its political ideologies in light of the 21st century like other Muslim majority countries is another reason for his resignation, Abdur Razzaq, assistant secretary general of Jamaat-e-Islami, said in his resignation letter sent from London over e-mail.

The Jamaat leader submitted the letter today addressing the party’s Ameer Maqbul Ahmed.
