A group of stalkers vandalised office of Shahid M Monsur Ali College in Pabna as its authorities asked them to leave the campus for harassing some female students today.

The outsiders entered the common room of the female students this morning and stalked the girls when most of the teachers were busy in taking classes and admission, Abdus Samad, principal of the college, told our Pabna correspondent

As the students lodged complaint, the college authorities asked the stalkers to leave the campus. Being angered, the outsiders led by Pintu, Akash and Hasan, hailing from neghbouring area, rampaged the office room, he said.

They also staged demonstration on the college premises equipped with firearms creating panic among the students and teachers, the principal said.

Later, teachers and students of the college formed a human chain on the campus and blocked Dhaka-Pabna highway for one hour from 12:00pm demanding punishment of the stalkers.

Ashraf Ali, a senior teacher of the college, said as there is no boundary wall and permanent gate of the college, the outsiders often enter the college and harass the students.

“We often protest them but they don’t care,” he said.

A case was filed in this connection, said Asadazumman, inspector (investigation) of Pabna Sadar police station.
