2 dengue patients die in Mymensingh, Faridpur

Two dengue patients including a member of village police died at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital(MMCH) and Faridpur Medical College Hospital(FMCH) today.

The deceased have been identified as Fatema Akter, 50, of Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj and Siddique Matabbar, 55, of Rajor Upazila in Madaripur.

Fatema was admitted at MMCH with Dengue fever on September 3 after being referred there from Kishoreganj General Hospital, said Dr AB Md Shamsuzzaman, assistant director of MMCH.

She was kept at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since September 7 as her condition deteriorated. She breathed her last at ICU this morning, the doctor said.

Siddique, a member of Shreekrishnadi village police was suffering from fever since September 2, said his son Santo Matabbar. He was admitted at Rajor Upazila Health Complex on September 6 where doctors diagnosed him with Dengue, the son said.

Siddique was transferred to FMCH around 9:30 this morning with dengue fever at a critical state and died around 12:45 pm, said Kamoda Prosad Saha, superintendent of FMCH.
