Ifti Mosharraf Sakal, one of the key accused of Abrar Fahad murder case, today confessed that he along with other BCL men tortured Abrar that led to his death.
Metropolitan Magistrate Sadbir Yasir Ahsan Chowdhury recorded the confessional statement of Sakal after DB Inspector Md Wahiduzzaman, investigation officer of the case, brought Sakal at his chamber this afternoon.
After recording the statement, the magistrate sent Sakal, social welfare secretary of Buet unit BCL, to Keraniganj Central Jail.
DB, in its forwarding report to the magistrate, said, Sakal, during his remand, has admitted that he along with other accused beat Abrar that led to his death and so Sakal agreed to give the confessional statement.
A total of 16 people including Sakal were arrested in connection with the murder of Abrar.
Abrar Fahad, a second-year student of Buet, was beaten to death early Monday.
